Fiber is loaded into compacter and fed into bags for storage and shipping. Product is weighed again in packaging and must be specific weight. Bags are stacked on pallets up to 6o inches high. Bags weigh 50lbs. Facility is hot because of the manufacturing process / furnaces. In the summer, it is even warmer. Employee may wear shorts, T-shirts and tennis shoes. Company will provide ear protection, eye protection, a paper breathing mask and a lightweight paper suit. The fiber is very light weight and is everywhere. It will get on the employees and their clothes. Most will not have any allergic reaction to fiber but some may get red rash or welts. It is not painful or itchy. Accountable for complying with the Quality Management System to ensure we attain our process capabilities and eliminate root causes of complaints so that we are viewed by our customers as the highest value provider of spandex. 3. Perform equipment repair &/or modification and addition maintenance work orders (MWO's), including at times, work order initiation, requisitioning, history, and closure. 4. Extract pertinent information from equipment files, understand and follow P&ID, mechanical equipment, and ISO drawings, and equipment operating/maintenance instructions, procedures, and specifications. 5. For assigned addition, modification, and repair work orders (MWO's), that result in changes to necessary and required documentation including specifications, drawings (revisions to existing drawings or new sketches), equipment operating/maintenance instructions, procedures, etc.; properly denote and red-line any changes &/or deviations and update documentation as necessary, or notify and supply red-lines to the appropriate discipline responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and actual current status documentation, data, and information. 6. Requisition and at times specify and propose spare part requirements for the facility. Recommend new or adjust existing minimum/maximum storeroom levels based upon projected or actual usage. Provide the Maintenance Management Systems Coordinator all necessary and required input concerning new, modified, or deleted Maintenance Management System (MMS) data/information. At times, work in conjunction with equipment and parts suppliers and provide input concerning replacement parts and/or alternatives to improve equipment performance and reliability. 7. As needed or required, attend and actively participate in meetings to establish facility short- and long-term Maintenance work priorities and goals. Cooperate with Production and Management to schedule and update as necessary, Engineering & Maintenance activities to coincide with established objectives, priorities, and goals. 8. Examine and troubleshoot equipment, systems, and processes to identify bottlenecks and determine causes of poor process &/or equipment performance. Investigate, provide input, initiate, and offer alternatives, and discuss and evaluate proposals and alternatives offered by other groups with facility Production and Engineering Department personnel. 9. Identify and correct unsafe working conditions and practices. Enforce safety procedures and standards established by Governmental, Corporate, Site, and Facility requirements and policies. 10. Ensure all workmanship is consistent with the required quality standards. 11. Assist as needed or required in the development, participate as needed and support the facility preventive & predictive maintenance programs. Ensure that PM work orders &/or tasks assigned are performed and documented in accordance with established procedures and guidelines set forth per AKSA, Corporate, ISO, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulations. Provide input and assist as needed in the development and determination of equipment and process criticalities, frequencies of inspection, and schedules/routes, and perform PM and predictive maintenance tasks as required. Update and review inspection and repair procedures and schedules, on an as needed or requested basis, and provide feedback to the appropriate disciplines and Groups. 12. If requested, provide assistance on Capital projects. Review and ensure new installations comply with standards and project documentation, are functional, and safe to operate. Review projects for maintainability, and ensure all workmanship is consistent with the required quality standards. 13. Maintain, and ensure that specifications, equipment, drawings, MMS information, operations and repair manuals, and all related documentation reflect the current state and operation of the Facility. Inform appropriate disciplines and Groups of any deficiencies and/or inaccuracies, and follow-up to ensure corrections are implemented. 14. Attend and actively participate in Facility HAZOPs, safety investigations, commissioning reviews, etc., as needed. 15. Actively participate and support the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP), including at times participation as a Team member, as an information source and provider of assistance when requested, and initiator of projects and ideas. 16. Exude a positive safety attitude and safety awareness as a top priority within the Department, Facility, and Corporation.
